Where knives hum and spices rise like smoke, a son stirs dreams his father once broke. In the kitchen’s glow, where heat meets hurt, melodies simmer beneath the apron and dirt.
Follow the rhythm where recipes fade—
for a star is born in the shadows he made. Find the smoke to find the dream he hides—where heat stirs a voice longing to be heard. There, the K-Clue Treasure Trove waits
in the place where a chef’s flame burns brighter than his father’s praise. Listen close—ambition cuts deeper than any blade.
FIND OUT YOUR MISSION… AND UNCOVER THE BETRAYAL BEHIND THE MUSIC
Operation School Spirit: The Lesson Challenge
You are still undercover as trainees inside TopKPOP Academy, but this time your cover role places you in the spotlight: helping a local elementary school and rebuilding TopKPOP’s image after the sabotage scandal.
Your mission is to complete three deliverables using AI as your instructional partner.
1. Unpack a California ELA Standard Using AI
Choose one grade-level California ELA standard and use AI to unpack it into clear, teachable sub-skills.
The sub-skill you select will anchor your entire lesson.
2. Create an Interdisciplinary Lesson
Use AI to design a lesson that blends:
This lesson is your contribution to “helping the community” — while quietly supporting the investigation and rebuilding TopKPOP’s reputation.
3. Perform Team Dance: Joyce’s Custom Routine
Joyce of BbCat — legendary maker of stars and creator of the BB Cat style — has created a special choreography just for Mission 3.
You will:

DELIVERABLE 1 — Unpack a Grade-Level ELA Standard Using AI
(Worth up to 100 Points — Suggested)
Step 1: Choose Your ELA Standard (Your Grade Level Only)
Select one official ELA standard from the grade you teach — and make sure you reference the exact standard code and full text in your submission.
To support your thinking, you may:
✔ Example of a California 3rd Grade ELA Standard (RI.3.7):
RI.3.7 — Use information gained from illustrations (e.g., maps, photographs) and the words in a text to demonstrate understanding of the text.
This standard works beautifully with a multimedia dance lesson because it requires students to interpret visuals and connect them to text, just like analyzing cultural dance images, diagrams, or performance clips.
Copy the full standard (with the code) into your working document.
Step 2: Ask AI to Unpack the Standard
Paste your chosen standard into ChatGPT.
Prompt example:
“Unpack this ELA standard into clear, teachable sub-skills, including key verbs, student actions, vocabulary, and mastery expectations.”
AI will break the standard into smaller, teachable parts.
Save this unpacking.
Step 3: Select ONE Sub-Skill to Anchor Your Lesson
Choose the sub-skill that best fits an interdisciplinary dance activity.
Here are examples of strong sub-skills:
Pick ONE sub-skill to use for Deliverable 2.
Step 4: Ask AI to Clarify or Refine Your Sub-Skill
If needed, ask:
Save any refinements you generate.
Step 5: Finalize Deliverable 1
Your submission must include:
This becomes the foundation of the lesson you will build in Mission 03.
Step 6: When you are finished doing this, please post on TikTok the unpacked standard and the sub-skill you will be using to create your lesson.
Be sure to tag @topkpopio so your submission can be reviewed.

Up to 100 Points for Option 1
Step 1: Review Your Selected Sub-Skill
Look back at the one sub-skill you chose in Deliverable 1.
This will be the literacy focus of your lesson.
Everything you design must help students practice and demonstrate this sub-skill.
Step 2: Choose Your Cultural Dance Connection
Select one culturally grounded dance tradition to anchor your lesson:
This dance will serve as the content context for your ELA lesson — NOT as a dance class. Students do not need to perform the dance; they learn through the context of cultural dance.
Step 3: Select at Least Three Movement Phrases
Choose three dance-related words or phrases in Korean or Spanish that will appear naturally within the lesson.
Examples include:
These phrases should be meaningfully used during reading, writing, speaking, or analyzing dance visuals.
Step 4: Ask AI for Three Lesson Ideas
Tell ChatGPT:
“Give me three lesson ideas that teach this ELA sub-skill using my chosen cultural dance and these Korean/Spanish movement phrases.”
Choose one of the ideas or mix elements to create your own.
Step 5: Build Your Final Lesson Plan Using AI
Paste your chosen idea into ChatGPT and request a full lesson, e.g.:
“Turn this idea into a full lesson plan using the 5E model / Direct Instruction / PBL / Cooperative Learning.”
Your final plan must include:
Refine as needed: pacing, clarity, supports, extensions, differentiation.
Step 6: Save and Prepare Your Lesson for Submission
Your final Deliverable 2 submission should include:
⭐
Posting Requirement for Deliverable 2
When you are finished creating your lesson, please post on TikTok a short summary of your lesson and the cultural dance + phrases it includes.
Tag @topkpopio so your submission can be reviewed.

Scoring (1–100 Points)
Joyce will evaluate:
Lesson Plan Rubric uses a 100 point rubric. You can view details of the lesson plan rubric here. This Oracle of the rubric evaluates a culturally grounded ELA lesson that uses a Korean or Latin dance as context to teach one clearly defined literacy sub-skill. Lessons are scored on alignment to the ELA focus, meaningful cultural and language integration, instructional design, student engagement, assessment, and completeness. Total possible score is 100 points.
Before you submit your lesson, you can pre-score your work using the rubric.
Visit the Oracle of the Rubric, copy and paste your full lesson plan, and review how it aligns to the evaluation criteria.
You may revise, refine, and strengthen your lesson as needed before final submission—this is your chance to polish your instructional design.
